Accessibility module for PrestaShop

Published · 19.3% of French online stores

PrestaShop runs nearly one French online store in five and, according to the 2026 Friends of Presta barometer, generates the largest revenue volume of French e-commerce. The Conformly module installs like any other module and shows, in the back office, the store's accessibility score and the list of issues to fix.

Accessibility is mandatory for PrestaShop stores

Since 28 June 2025 the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) requires e-commerce services provided to EU consumers to be accessible. Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt: fewer than ten employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet not exceeding EUR 2 million. The technical reference is EN 301 549, which builds on WCAG 2.1 level AA; in France it is the RGAA.

On PrestaShop, issues mostly come from the theme (Classic, Hummingbird or a purchased theme) and from product page and checkout modules: variant selectors without labels, icon buttons without names, carousels unusable with a keyboard, theme contrast.

What the module does

Once installed, the module appears in Modules → Module Manager. Its "Configure" page holds both the settings and the results.

What the module does not do

It changes neither the theme nor the templates and injects no accessibility overlay. It measures and tells you what to fix. An automated scan covers part of the criteria: it does not replace a full audit, but it catches frequent errors and flags regressions after a theme or module update.

Data sent and privacy

The module only calls conformly.online when a back-office employee clicks a button. It sends the store's public URL and, in connected mode, the API key. No customer or order data is sent. The optional badge is an SVG image, with no script and no cookie.

Install the PrestaShop module

  1. Download the ZIP. Download conformly-prestashop from this page. Do not unzip it.
  2. Install the module. Back office: Modules → Module Manager → "Upload a module", drop the ZIP.
  3. Scan the store. Click "Configure", then "Scanner ma boutique" (the module interface is in French). The result shows up in about a minute.
  4. Turn on monitoring (optional). With a Pro or Agency plan, enter the API key and site ID (Conformly dashboard → your site → CI/CD integration), then enable the badge if you want it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the module compatible with PrestaShop 9?

Yes. It targets PrestaShop 1.7.7 and later, including 8 and 9, with PHP 7.4 to 8.3. It only uses the public module API (configuration, hooks).

Does the module fix issues automatically?

No. Automatic fixes in the browser do not make a site compliant. The module shows each issue and how to fix it in the theme or module concerned.

Do I need a Conformly account?

Not for the home page scan, which is free and limited to five scans per hour. Monitoring every page and a self-updating badge require a Pro or Agency plan.

Does it work with multistore?

The scan targets the URL of the shop in the current context. In connected mode, one API key matches one Conformly site: create one site per shop.

Where do I find the site ID and the API key?

In the Conformly dashboard, on your site's page, "CI/CD integration" panel: the ID is shown with a copy button, and "Generate a token" creates the key.
