axe-core updates to version 4.14.0
Version 4.14.0 of the axe-core accessibility testing engine has been released. This update brings performance improvements, enables a new rule by default, and fixes several false positives.
Rule and result changes
The update enables a new rule by default (label-content-name-mismatch) and introduces new violations in some existing rules, which can cause issue totals to go up. Conversely, bug fixes to false positives may cause the issue count to go down.
Performance improvements
This release focuses on performance, speeding up runs by 20% to 40% on most pages. On especially large pages, a 15x performance improvement has been measured.
Notable features and fixes
EN 301 549 v4 tags were added to the target-size rule. The Azerbaijani locale was added. Numerous fixes address ARIA rules, color contrast, and label-content name mismatches. The full source is available at: https://github.com/dequelabs/axe-core/releases.
